Each objective describes an AST bench competency, method, QC, and category assignment, not antimicrobial selection or dosing.
- Execute Kirby–Bauer procedural checkpoints (colony age, inoculum, swabbing, disk timing, incubation, measurement) that protect zone validity
- Troubleshoot common Kirby–Bauer failures involving inoculum, media depth/moisture, disk handling, and reading technique
- Gate category assignment on QC performance and institutionally adopted breakpoint tables
