Section: Learning Objectives
Each objective is a clinical PCR skill for medical laboratory scientists, not advanced biochemistry.
- Explain that many real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays use a fluorescence signal to detect amplification as it happens
- Relate rising fluorescence to target amplification under assay-defined detection chemistry
- State that signal interpretation, including cycle threshold (Ct) / quantification cycle (Cq) calls, follows the validated assay standard operating procedure (SOP)
