Section: Learning Objectives
Each objective describes a laboratory interpretation competency, method choice, timing, and result correlation, not antiviral dosing or treatment selection.
- Map innate barriers and adaptive humoral/cellular responses to what the laboratory can detect (antigen, nucleic acid, IgM, IgG)
- Frame serology windows, including IgM appearance, IgG seroconversion, and early false-negative antibody periods, as timing problems, not assay failures alone
- Choose when antigen/molecular detection versus antibody testing answers the clinical question without selecting therapy
