Each objective below describes a competency you will apply at the immunohematology bench, interpretation first, memorization second.
- Explain why the D antigen is the primary Rh focus in routine typing and how D-negative status informs RBC selection and RhIG pathways
- Distinguish educational concepts of weak D versus partial D and state why donor/recipient typing and obstetric policies are institution-specific
- Recognize that most Rh antibodies (anti-D, -C, -c, -E, -e and related) are clinically significant and typically require antigen-negative RBC selection when identified
