- Describe how platelet concentrates and apheresis platelets are prepared and why they are stored at room temperature under continuous agitation rather than refrigerated
- Apply the swirling (swirl sign) visual-inspection check as a release criterion and interpret loss of swirling as a laboratory hard stop
