Section: Learning Objectives
Each objective below describes a competency you will apply at the immunohematology bench, practical laboratory reasoning first, memorization second.
- Rank unexpected antibodies as usually clinically significant versus usually clinically insignificant based on immunoglobulin class, thermal amplitude, and 37°C/AHG reactivity
- Recognize usually significant systems (Rh, Kell, Duffy, Kidd) and usually insignificant patterns (many Lewis, cold anti-M, anti-N) without treating either category as an absolute rule
- Apply antigen immunogenicity and clinical context to prioritize antibody workup, monitoring, and product-selection discussions
